Working Together

You're Welcome

You’re welcome is a quality mark introduced by the Department of Health for all health services where young people aged 11 – 19 are potential users.  The aim is to develop a more young-people friendly service.

It is based on the principles that:
· All young people are entitled to receive appropriate health services
· All young people health services should take young peoples needs into account
· Seem-less service delivery for young people should be possible at all times including through transition into adult services

Services assess themselves against key quality criteria using a self-assessment toolkit.  The criteria aims to improve acceptability, accessibility and the quality of services for young people and therefore also impacts on choice.  You’re Welcome also aims to facilitate and encourage young people to actively seek out health services proactively and early health advice on issues that concern them including sexual health, depression, self harm, drugs alcohol and suicide.  The active involvement of young people is embedded within the process to ensure that they have been consulted, listened to and responded to about the things that matter to them.
