Medway Council actively promotes work experience for students of all ages. One of our ‘6 Priorities’ (children and young people having the best start in life) aims to realise the potential of young people in Medway, by improving their employability when they leave education and by improving services and the information they have about what is available. Work experience can be an excellent vehicle to help us achieve this.
Every month we have a number of very successful placements in many different departments, which are proving successful both from the students’ perspective and from the managers’.
If your department is having a problem attracting young people, then offering work experience placements may help raise the profile of your department and show off the work you are doing to potential recruits.
