Local autism support group MAGIC has been named as a finalist in the ITV Jubilee Peoples Millions Grants Programme. The Jubilee People’s Millions is part of The Big Lottery Fund which distributes half of the National Lottery good cause funding across the UK.
MAGIC's new project "Respite holidays that are MAGIC" aims to provide a family holiday home at Allhallows Leisure Park, Kent, which will allow families living with autism to access a weekend or midweek break at a reasonable cost
A short film about the project will be screened on ITV's Meridian Tonight on 27th June 2011. MAGIC will be competing against another project and whichever receives the most votes will be announced the winner on the Tuesday night show. Voting lines for MAGIC will be open from 9am till midnight on the 27th June 2011, votes cost 11p per call from a BT line (other operators may charge more) and each individual phone number can vote 10 times. That’s a lot of votes for a small amount of money (£1.10).
The telephone number will be available in the Daily Mirror and on the Jubilee People’s Millions website from 9am on the day of voting.
