Getting Involved

Parents of children with a disability

Medway Parent Carer Forum
Under the Aiming High for Disabled Children Programme, funding has recently been made available to help support parents and carers to have a voice in how services for disabled children are shaped and delivered locally.

Why Get Involved?
By getting involved you can learn more about the way things work in your local area and be part of helping to ensure that there are better outcomes for children and young people across Medway.

You could also gain new skills as well as meeting professionals and other parents. You will have the chance to share experiences with other parents of children with additional needs.

What is A Parent Carer Forum?
The Medway Parent Carer Forum is a friendly group of parents who meet to discuss real issues that affect children and young people in Medway with a disability.

By working together the forum can make a difference to the services children and young people receive. And who better to make that change than you their parents and carers.

Who is the forum for?
If you are a parent or carer of a child or young person with additional needs and you live in Medway, you can come along.

What the forum won’t do:
The forum will work best by tackling generic issues that affect a number of people. It won’t be able to tackle specific issues that a parent carer may have about their own child.
