We asked young people, involved in the Young Inspectors’ programme, what it has done for them and how important they think the programme is for services in Medway and their service users.

This is what they have said:

"Met new people did something different
Got more money to live got kicked out of home would have done more crime
The time in inspections was kept busy so not getting into trouble. The money put me in a good  mood so I didn’t need to cause trouble."

"Young Inspectors has helped me in many ways. It helped me to get on to my college course and get a job in restaurant and it has given me new friendships and developed my confidence ten fold. It has allowed me to make a genuine difference in my local community. It gave me a chance after I left school and had little prospects. The money I have received has bought me equipment for work and my career. I enjoy the work and it empowers the young people who are often ignored or brushed aside in today’s world. It has made such a positive difference in my life, something I will always be thankful for."

"I think youth inspectors are important for services because, if the services under inspection are used for youths then it would be better for youths to inspect them. As they have more experience for how things should be changed, for the better."
