Young Inspectors gain essential skills
Training to become a Young Inspector is intensive, interactive and fun. They learn a range of new skills transferrable to the workplace that can help them get ready for working life:
- Understanding confidentiality towards organisations, other young people and service users
- Research skills - internet, local leaflets, local press, libraries, local archives
- Understanding diversity and difference with other young people's circumstances
- Report producing using a variety of methods written, flip video, artwork, role play etc.
- Understanding about services for young people in Medway
- Communication skills - body language, verbal and non verbal
- Developing relationships within a new team
- Questioning skills
- Professional conduct
- Presentation skills
These skills are developed further through carrying out inspections and other development activities within the programme.
